Well for Breakfast yesterday I had Kirkland Signature Organic Oatmeal again… I have that almost every morning… so thats like 190 cals and 37 crabs… lots of fiber so it was good, and usually fills me up.
Lunch I went to Paradise Bakery and had a traditional turkey sandwich. Just deli mustard on it with lettuce and tomato. No mayo, and I gave the cookie to my co-worker POD to eat. He is an alien from another world and needs mass doses of sugar to live here among us… So I go to check the nutrition facts on Paradise Bakery’s web site, and they don’t have any either! WTH MAN!!!?!! You lame azz places better get your nutrition info up already or I ain’t eating there!
We had a cub scout pack meeting for the boys last night, so afterwards we ran to Taco Bell. I had 2 crunchy tacos, a soft taco, and a bean burro… the totals were 890 cals and 99 carbs so I blew it there. lol. the tacos would have been fine, it was the bean burro that blew me out of the water… 54 carbs and 350 cals on that alone… I just need to stick to crunchy tacos there. lol.
I had a small pack of cracker jacks as a snack later in the night. Those are pretty good as snacks, they are a small bag you can buy like a box of them at Costco. Perfect size for a snack. 150 cals, 30 carbs. Well, I wanted to find the little granol bites which are a really good snack. like only 90 cals, 14 carbs… that is a better snack but I couldnt find any at costco.

Well for Breakfast I had a single serving of Costco’s Kirkland Signature Organic Oatmeal. It was the apples and cinnamon one. I really like doing those for breakfast, and the box comes with like 6 different flavors. I don’t really like the Mixed Berry one, but the others are good, and they fill me up until lunch. The calories are like 230-250 I think, and the carbs are in the 30-37 range, so it is perfect for what my dietician wanted me doing.
Lunch was a bit bigger. I went to Red Robin and had the chili burger, with no bun. I did have fries, but i didnt finish my whole serving. So I know I was under 60g carbs, but it was pobably like 58g. But the calories where too high. Like 800-900 just for the chiliburger. and like 350 for the fries. So I need to just have the chili next time with out the burger. And maybe like half an order of fries.

Well i got side-tracked and never went to lunch. Cindy was kind enough to let me mooch some her Archer Farm (Target) trail mix. It ws pretty good. it had like raisins, pepitas (WTH is a pepita? Pumpkin seed. lol), soybeans (which were actually quite tasty), sunflower seeds, walnuts, cashews, etc.
I had about 3 palm fulls, so it was less than 40 carbs, and I don’t remember the cals. Wasn’t much though, maybe 300.

Had the BK Cheesy Bacon Wrapper, and a cup of water… here are the stats…
Calories: 290, Carbs: 19g
It wasn’t bad, seemed to fill me up fine. That king guy on the commercials is creepy… lol

Well today I decided to give the taco fresco menu a shot, so I got 2 fresco crunchy tacos, and 2 original crunchy tacos. Here are the stats: 630 cals, 53 carbs. So that is well below my carb top allowed which is 60. Technically Iam sure I could get by on 3 tacos instead of 4. So that would save me 13-14 carbs, and 170 cals. The fresco stuff wasn’t bad at all. so it is at least another alternative to just getting plain crunchy tacos which is just about the only thing i can get at Taco Bell. lol

I have had a real good week for the most part. I have been keeping in my carb range and keeping down the calories. It seems to get easier when you do it for a couple weeks. I will try to kep up with this blog, which sadly I havent been able to do. My bad.

Well for today’s lunch I consumed an Oven Roasted Twister® (420 cals, 40g of carbs) at KFC. heheheh… I had a cup of water too so that wasn’t too bad of a lunch! The KFC drive-through is always an experience, but today it was actually fast… lol.

So like, a few months ago I had blood work done and it showed that I had slightly elevated blood sugar… Well the Doc sat me down and had a good long talk with me… my cholesterol levels were fine… he said I have good genes… But my fasting blood sugar was like 111 so I was now officially pre-diabetc…
Well, diabetes doesn’t sound like a fun thing to me… and I am 40, so I better get my butt in gear to change some stuff before it is too late. The good thing is he said that we caught it when it is starting to be a problem, so through diet and excersize we can probably pull it back to where it should be.
Well, the problem is I am very out of shape, and way too heavy. So he sent me to a dietitian. She told me to attack the high blood sugar first so we can avoid the blood sugar spikes. So I have to stay between 45-60g carbs for each meal, and 15-30g carbs for snacks. And naturally I need to keep the calories down too.
I have been doing pretty good so far. It took me a while to get going, but now I think I am doing fairly well at it. I have almost completely given up all soda. I think I had maybe 2 cans of soda average per week over the last 2 months… I drink tons of water now instead. So I am going to start blogging what I eat each day to make it easier to keep track of. We will see how it goes.
